Advent Is Here
The season of Advent begins on Sunday, December 1st, and continues until we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior on December 25th. Please join us during this holy season as we heed the call of the prophet Isaiah, who urges us to leave behind our ways of fear and selfishness and usher in a new age and a new way of living – The Way of Love.
May you be blessed with time and space for worship, prayer, and holy anticipation this Advent!
Worship Schedule
Sundays at 8:00 am (Rite I, spoken service, with sermon and Holy Communion)
Sundays at 10:00 am (Rite II, with sermon, music, children’s program and Holy Communion)
Wednesdays at 10:00 am (Rite II, spoken, with Scripture reflection, healing prayer, and Holy Communion)
Christmas Eve at 3:00 pm (Rite I, with organ and classical guitar; a peaceful, meditative worship experience with sermon and Holy Communion)
Christmas Eve at 7:30 pm (Rite II, with organ, guitar, and choir; a festive, celebratory service with candles, sermon and Holy Communion)
In a decade’s long Springfield tradition, Jewish, Christian, and Muslim faith communities will gather to give thanks to the God we all worship and celebrate all that we have in common. Please join us at Temple Sholom (2424 N. Limestone) for this worship service followed by refreshments and a chance to connect with our neighbors-in-faith.
The Oakwood Village worship services will be on February 27th at 10 am on the 2nd-floor in the chapel and will include Scripture readings & discussion, anointing, and Holy Eucharist. All are welcome!
Interfaith Hospitality Network: February 9th and 15th
Christ Church is responsible for providing dinner to the guests at Interfaith Hospitality Network Saturday, February 15th at 6 pm. If you can help with this ministry please contact Lori Swafford (lori.swafford67@nullgmail.com (937) 605-7625).
Our Outreach committee are collecting socks and underwear at both services, that will be donated to local schools in the community. We are asking for socks and underwear in children and adult sizes. Please put your offering in the basket or box outside the elevator on the worship level of the church. Thank you!!
