Please join us for combined 9 am service on Sunday, February 11, 2018 followed by the 184th Annual Meeting of Christ Episcopal Church . A light brunch will be served sponsored by Vestry. All members of Christ Church are asked to be present for this once-a-year meeting.
Ash Wednesday Services

Ash Wednesday is the Holy Day that begins the penitential season of Lent in preparation for Easter. We offer the following services that day to meet a variety of schedules.
All services include the imposition of ashes and Holy Eucharist.
10am: Prayer Book service in the chapel
5pm: Family service in the chapel (with a Valentine surprise for the kids)
7pm: Prayer Book service with choir in the church
Rev. Maggie will make home/workplace visits in the afternoon to bring ashes and communion to anyone who is unable to attend worship that day. Please contact the church office if you would like to receive a visit!
Sweetness of Peace: February 17th from 2 pm to 4 pm
This year is the 14th anniversary of the Springfield Peace Center’s fundraiser, “The Sweetness of Peace”. This event will take place Sunday, February 17th from 2 to 4 pm. The “Sweetness of Peace” celebration will be held in 105 Shouvlin on Wittenberg University’s campus. Sponsored by the Springfield Peace Center, all proceeds will go toward “sponsoring” children for the annual Peace Camp in June. This 33rd annual Peace Camp is a community service provided free to the first 225 children who register. Desserts will be donated by prominent area caterers. Admission to the event is $15 which will allow you samples of 10 different desserts. The Springfield Youth Symphony Orchestra will provide entertainment and door prizes will be provided. The tax-deductible admission tickets can be purchased from any Board member (Christ Church’s Scott Dooley), at the Peace Center (224 W. College) on Tuesdays or you can purchase them at the door.
August is Christ Church’s responsibility to help serve lunch at St. John’s Lutheran Church each Friday. There are two shifts. The first shift prepares the meal and sets up from 9 AM to 11 AM. The second shift comes in at 11:30 AM to serve and clean up, finishing at 1:30 PM.
Christ Church is responsible for providing dinner to the guests at Interfaith Hospitality Network Saturday, June 15th at 6 pm. If you can help with this ministry please contact Lori at lori.swafford67@nullgmail.comor call (937) 605-762.
Please join us for the Holy Eucharist and Healing service in the Chapel on Wednesday, September 13th at 10am followed by the Episcopal Church Women’s Hobo Potluck Picnic. The potluck will be in Hobosville , Ohio (Dodi Holme’s backyard) at 1021 Bahia Dr. Springfield, Ohio. Burgers and hot dogs will be provided.
