The Christ Church Food Pantry has partnered with Covenant Presbyterian Church and together host a pantry the third Wednesday of each month from 11 am until 2 pm. The pantry is funded solely by contributions. Most of the items distributed by our pantry are obtained through Second Harvest Food Bank of Clark, Champaign and Logan County and are either free or cost very little, helping keep our total expenses down. The Food Pantry has many volunteer opportunities. The second Wednesday of each month starting at 9 am until about 10:15 am we need volunteers to help unload a few trucks and take the plastic off the flats. The third Wednesday of each month starting at 9 am until 2 pm there are various jobs to volunteer for including: interviewing clients, computer entry, hostess, bagging groceries, breaking down cardboard, making double bags, and helping clients take food to vehicle. We strive to meet the needs of our clients and continue to encourage others to use our available resources.
IHN is a vital ministry in Springfield that provides housing, meals, and employment assistance to homeless individuals and families. IHN helps the clients find affordable housing, learn the skills they need to live independently, and find employment. How can you help?

The second shift comes in at 11:30 AM to serve and clean up, finishing at 1:30 PM. There is a sign-up sheet posted on the kiosk in the East Entrance.
